Lord of all creation - I come to You now in the name of this Jesus I have heard about.  I was born into a sinful world and have lived in ignorance and rebellion to Your truth.  Jesus, I accept You as God manifested in the flesh, born as an offering for my sins.  Born to pay the price I am unable to pay - the price required for restored fellowship with my Creator.  Please forgive me and make me a vessel fit for Your use.  I release any bitterness or unforgiveness in my heart and ask You to deal with those situations.  I believe You were born of a virgin, died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven and are now sitting at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for me.

You are now Lord of my life.

Confess Jesus before men and He will confess you before the Father.

“Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear.” Hebrews 5:7 (NKJV) The English Standard Version translates “godly fear” as reverence. Jesus, in the fleshly body prepared for Him, understood the need to reverence God as the all in all. How much more should we created beings stand in awe of the majesty of our heavenly father.

Satan let pride enter his heart and thought to ascend as God because of his beauty. And yet his perfection was not even close to God because he was still a created being - created from the mind and will of God. God is beyond all that we can even begin to comprehend. He is the eternal, ever existing one who is worthy of all honor.

When I try to comprehend God, all that is within my grasp is just created things. My mind cannot begin to understand all that. One of my favorite lines is from a poem called “Eternal Power” by Isaac Watts. “And worms have learned to lisp thy name.” When we reach the limits of our thoughts and imaginations, He still remains above them all. We stand in awe. As the old song says “let us love and sing and wonder”.

Above all things, hold Him in the honor due Him. Let us not casually talk and cheapen the grace He has given us. Let us not become too familiar, for though He is Father, He is God. We may curl up into His arms but let us approach with Godly awe and reverence.
