Lord of all creation - I come to You now in the name of this Jesus I have heard about.  I was born into a sinful world and have lived in ignorance and rebellion to Your truth.  Jesus, I accept You as God manifested in the flesh, born as an offering for my sins.  Born to pay the price I am unable to pay - the price required for restored fellowship with my Creator.  Please forgive me and make me a vessel fit for Your use.  I release any bitterness or unforgiveness in my heart and ask You to deal with those situations.  I believe You were born of a virgin, died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven and are now sitting at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for me.

You are now Lord of my life.

Confess Jesus before men and He will confess you before the Father.

The following is an ancient description of Jesus. Although it was probably born out of one’s imagination instead of an actual eyewitness account, it is still interesting to contemplate.

There lives at this time in Judea a man of singular virtue, whose name is Jesus Christ, whom the barbarians esteem as a prophet, but his followers love and adore him as the offspring of the immortal God. He calls back the dead from the grave and heals all sort of diseases with a word or touch. He is a tall man, well shaped, and of an amiable and reverend aspect; his hair of a color that can hardy be matched, falling in graceful curls, waving above and very agreeably couching upon his shoulders, parted on the crown of the head, running like a stream to the front a after the fashion of the Nazarites; his forehead high, large and imposing; his cheeks without spot or wrinkle, beautiful with a lovely red; his nose and mouth formed with exquisite symmetry; his beard of the color of new wine suitable to his hair, reaching below his chin and parted in the middle like a fork; high eyes bright blue, clear, and serene, look innocent, dignified, manly, and mature. In proportion of body most perfect and captivating; his arms and hands delicate to behold. He rebukes with majesty, counsels with mildness; his whole address, whether in word or deed, being eloquent and grave. No man has seen him laugh, yet his manners are exceedingly pleasant, but he has wept frequently in the presence of men. He is temperate, modest, and wise. A man for his extraordinary beauty and divine perfections, surpassing the children of men in every sense.

Isaiah 53 says “He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.” However, I believe that being born without sin and in the image of God made Him the perfection of beauty. Just as Adam was created from the heart of God, no less was the body of our Lord Jesus Christ. His is a beauty we need to see through God’s eyes.

Whatever His physical appearance, we love Him for His sacrifice of redemption.
